Has Apple ever considered Open-Sourcing Resedit so that it could be

Since ResEdit was written in Pascal, never coverted to PPC code, and
exensively uses it's own PACK resources as a pseudo-shared library
(all the image viewing/editing was handed by a PACK that had a series
of entry points that you'd dispatch similar to the way that
StandardFile was done), and Apple has repeatedly stated that they
don't feel that open source is a "dumping ground" for their
old/abandoned products/technology, I'm guessing that the answer is
"no".
Perhaps you should look into ResKnife
(
http://resknife.sourceforge.net), which is an open sourced, Cocoa
based resource editor...
