Definitely- every app is different- with some registration incentives
being more suitable than others. It seems right that system utilities
vs. games would have different ideal strategies for selling.
Maybe, instead of what you think, users will use the utility once, then
forget about it without registering, since utilities are by nature
maybe not used very frequently?
An example of a system utility app which is a very limited demo is
"Tinkertool System" - I think one can launch it only 5 times or
something before it's disabled. But Tinkertool Standard edition has
lots of users already. Like dexterity says, it's all about managing the
risk/benefit in the eyes of the buyer.
