Have a look at the link, Sony has done it with its Fingerprint biometric
device application. I have tried to download the application and run the
installer (I have no device). After installation, the system restart and the
Sony's Authorization window appeared instead of default authorization
window.

Any ideas how this can be done?

Any ideas on how to replace the authorization window with custom
application? I believe that Sony's biometric has done it.
If you mean extend authorisation services so as to support alternate
methods, e.g. biometrics, smart cards, etc, then I'm not sure there's any
official way to do so, at least not in 10.3. Rumours indicate there is
some support for login authentication via these methods (for US government
purposes), but they may still just be rumours at this point.
Be careful with the idea of casually replacing the authorization window,
whether system wide or in a particular application - there are many reasons
why the system provides a generic authentication and authorisation scheme,
and why they should be used.
