Of course. Just make sure to check the "Preserve Transparency" (I think
that's what its called) checkbox when you save your icon as a tiff in
Photoshop. Icon Composer will preserve that transparency when you
convert the tiff into an icns.

Is it possible to have some transparency in a Mac OS X application
icon? I would like to be able to make part of my icon for my Cocoa
application partially transparent, which would be kind of interesting
looking with the application in the Dock.
