Well then I guess there is no way you could retrieve info about the
image selected if it's in a rotation. I don't see why the system would
modify the defaults and sync them everytime it changes, anyway.
I don't know what exactly controls the Desktop, but you could probably
hack your way in with an input manager (hint: SIMBL) if the thing is
in cocoa.
