SF is loaded with lots of smaller older one of a kind hotels.
If I were going, I'd see about staying at the Commodore. Its about a
20 minute walk but it has the Titanic cafe - GREAT breakfasts.

If I were trying to go cheap, I'd stay at the Astoria.

Right next to the gate to Chinatown at Grant. Fairly cheap, older
hotel, 10 minute walk to Moscone.
If I had unlimited money I'd book into the Triton - its where the rock
stars stay. Across the street from the Astoria.

Hi there,
As I live on the other side of the planet, I was just wondering if
anybody who knows San Francisco can recommend a hotel close to the
WWDC convention centre?
The catch is that it's gotta be suitable for a person without a car.
I realise that nice, inexpensive and close to the convention centre
(or public transport?) are probably mutually exclusive :-)
I also realise that this is off-topic ( way off! ) but I figure
there's gotta be other non-US developers out there who'd like to know
as well?
Any help will be much appreciated!
Tom.
