It's truly ironic that at the start of the year, there was no online
content from WWDC 2004 (it was removed) and that the only way to view
content was if you had the DVDs.
If and when the content gets removed (as previous years have) I'm sure
a lot of people will be disappointed. Does anybody know if the online
content is going to stay there for good?
Apple didn't promise DVDs this year (IIRC), but it has been discussed
on this list before, and people expect them since they've been
produced for the previous three years. Apple could have managed this
expectation by making it clear at point of purchase that there would
not be any DVDs.
Perhaps its a business decision and the exclusive online content is to
encourage ADC subscriptions. In any case, I hope they can reconsider
the decision for WWDC 2005 given peoples' expectation.
I'm certainly re-considering whether I should renew my ADC
subscription and attend next year's WWDC because its quite expensive
to attend when paying your own way... (especially if from outside the
US).
