Sad, eh?
I have never before looked into how one might capture a streaming
quicktime video, as I try really hard to buy content that I want to
see. ADC tv is a good way to review a video, but if one happens to
be offline, a DVD or a download burned to same is far superior. I do
not even mind downloading the twenty or so sessions that I want to
review - it is just time and disk space.
'Tis a really bad idea to make your customers have a good business
reason to break your terms of service. I cannot see why devprograms
thought this a good idea.
I don't know why Apple would do this. I mean, why shouldn't I be
able
to watch the video offline? Why shouldn't I be able to watch it at
some point after Apple's decided not to keep them on their servers
anymore? It wouldn't be the first time I had watched WWDC videos
more
than a year after the fact, but apparently Apple objects to me doing
so, or something.
I watched about a dozen, dozen and a half of last year's videos
before WWDC in 2005, so I would have a good idea of what questions I
might want to bring.
On the whole I'm happy with Apple's developer programs, but this
decision really, really sucks.
Completely agreed.
