Recommendations for localization management

  • Subject: Recommendations for localization management

I'm getting ready to start having my program (www.adiumx.com) localized. What are y'all's recommendations for how to manage keeping localized resources up to date? I'm concerned primarily with having an easy way to merge changes to Localizable.strings from code to English.lproj, from there out to translators, and from translators back into the code base. Easily managing nibs would be nice, too, but with 540 strings so far in Localizable.strings in my main bundle alone, well, that could get difficult quickly.

I've tried using AppleGlot and just ended up frustrated... it seems that translators have to edit a rather cumbersome file by hand for each translation, and my Localizable.strings file seemed to just produce high-ASCII gibberish. I'm considering blue-tec's Localization Suite as a solution, as well, as it seems fairly nice at least at first blush.

Thoughts or direction would be much appreciated.
