I agree with those who have said that the best way to distribute files
is in a .dmg. It's the standard, all users know what to do with them,
and it won't mangle any files or attributes.
I also agree that a drag-and-drop install is infinitely preferable to
an installer. I would like to add that if you abolutely *must* use an
installer, please use the standard .pkg format rather than VISE or some
third-party thing. The reason .pkg is better is because it is an open
format, and users can view its contents with a tool like Pacifist to
make sure they know what the installer is going to dump all over their
drive before they give it permission to do so.
