Is LSFindApplicationForInfo deprecated in Mac OS X 10.3.x?
Hi Stéph!
You might check the archives of the Carbon list, LS has been discussed
a
lot. There was a change in 10.3.5 (I think, around there) where apps
are
not returned unless they are 'trusted' (ie previously launched). I
don't
recall the details.
Hum, I hope it's not the real reason because it would be quite a stupid
reason. Where is the security in not being able to locate an
application? It's launching the application which might be problematic,
not finding it.
Additionally:
- I don't see the "Security" alert when I launch this application (in
fact I've never seen it on my machine) so this would mean the
application is trusted.
- I can launch it using NSWorkspace when it's in /Applications and it
can't be found by LSFindApplicationForInfo
I think I'm on my way to file a bug report.
