Hmm, interesting. However, the website says that Volley is written in

I don't much like C++ myself per se, but I can get a hell of a lot of
performance out of it. And it's more cross-platform than Objective-C
or C#.
If you're not willing to learn <insert programming language here> then
you're not going to get very far in this industry. Programming
concepts and good design are not specific to any programming language.
A good developer is able to adapt and use any programing language
thrown at him. And when it's his choice, a good developer will choose
the tool (programming language) that best fist the task at hand even if
it isn't as familiar to him as others - you probably wouldn't want to
write a mainstream consumer Mac OS X application in Pascal, even if you
were more familiar with it than Objective-C (Cocoa) or C/C++ (Carbon).
A good developer won't be confined to one language and should try to
learn as many tools as possible. All other things being equal, an
employer will likely hire someone who knows a lot of programming
languages over someone who knows just one.
You wouldn't want to hire a carpenter who only knew how to use a hammer
would you?
