Oh,

 just realized one more thing:

AFAIK, there are few decent, small database applications around. Mind you, I don't mean engines like SQLite, but rather GUI applications a la FileMaker. What is there is usually either very huge and incurs significant licensing fees, or very simplistic or specialized (the current crop of notebooks and book/DVD archive programs).

I couldn't find a small, simple database with several views on the data and good printing and searching functionality. (If there already is one, my apologies, and *please* send me the link off-list)
