Well researched posts cuts down on unnecessary list traffic. The
topic that your last post was leading up to, and what you've expanded
on below, is interesting - but I found that intermediary step a bit
redundant... That said, it's not up to me to police the list, so I
owe you an apology.
You can see the source of my confusion; having just tried, I can
see that you *do* still need to set the quit, about, and help menu
item titles, but not the application menu's title itself. I find
that inconsistent now that I know one is automatically changed at
runtime and the others are not. This should be replaced when the
new project is created like everything else in the project.
I agree wholeheartedly. I think that Apple should provide a set of
reserved menu item tags that could be used by the runtime to set the
standard menu item titles. This is already done for the menu items in
the new search field pop-up menu (NSSearchFieldRecentsMenuItemTag,
et.c.). This would probably be a nice improvement to the kit, and a
good feature request to file via RadarWeb.
At least they could give that menu item a default title that
indicates that it will in fact be replaced automatically. That's
something they could do right away without having to change any code,
or risk breaking something.
