the behavior is well defined, select one of your documents in the
finder, hit command-I, and select the build that you want to launch
by default, then choose 'change all'.

I have probably 25 instances/versions of my app sprinkled

"explosion" animation, but then the Finder is reactivated. By
putting an
NSLog in -applicationDidFinishLaunching of my app's latest rev in
/Applications, I can see that it is not launched.
On a Mac that only has one instance of my app installed,
doubleclicking a
document launches my app, no problems.
The Apple document "Launch Services Concepts and Tasks" makes no
mention of
what happens when multiple instances of an application are installed.
Apparently, Mac OS behavior under these conditions is not defined,
so I
should not worry about it?
