Sorry, I think I overstated things a bit with my "just chrome" comment. I
certainly do like the new syntax. Funny thing is, "foreach" (as Perl spells
it) is one of the things I've been missing when not working in Perl. The
"old" syntax just feels klunky in comparison. At least you've only been
missing it since Leopard - I've been missing it since 10.0 RC3. :-)

But the syntax elicited a mild "cool, that's nice" reaction from me, while
the implementation got more of a "wow that's huge, I *have* to support that
in CamelBones!!!" reaction. So, while Apple *did* give me something I've
wanted for quite a while in the new syntax, at the same time they also gave
me something I didn't even *know* I wanted, but couldn't live without once I
saw it.

Not a bad end result, IMHO. :-)

I'd like to see that too, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for it.
Apple hasn't back-ported very many new features that I know of.
