Hmmm.... I use Sparkle from an app embedded in the prefPane. The install
process first quits System Preferences, the prefpane is replaced and System
prefs is relaunched. I suppose if the quit fails for some reason it could
cause something similar.

I have never seen this bug here, but the prefpane is being moved/replaced -
although SystemPrefs should have quit during this time.
