I don’t know if it is better, but this works in beta 6

var numbers: [UInt64] = ...

func numbers( upTo nbr: Int ) -> [UInt64]
{
    var outCopy:[UInt64] = []
    outCopy += numbers[ 0 ..< nbr ]
    return outCopy
}
