RIP we worked with was the X4 connected to a Minolta. I belive they
are the same because we still used ColorWise to download profiles.
What was explained to me today is the output profile that is
downloaded is the simulation for CMYK files and the Simulation
profile downloaded is the simulation for RGB files. There is no way
to download a custom profile to the copier. As I learn more I will
keep the list posted.

Good points Dan; However, It would also be prudent to point out that the
Fiery X4_PS_NX60 or any other 3rd generation Fiery uses the "Simulation"
profile in a very unique way. The problem with traditional Toner based
printers is the fact that the colorants of the toner itself are far from the
colorants used in let's say a Matchprint IRIS or a Digital Cromalin. The
various Rip manufacturers have had a lot of experience blending let's say
Magenta with Yellow in order to mimic the visual colour of the IRIS Magenta
or other of the like. The point to all this garble is simple: you load a
Simulation profile into ColorWise 2 and you "Linearise" to a specific
"Output" standard (Smooth Gradation A for example) and what happens in the
Fiery engine enables a simple HUE correction exercise that simply makes the
Fiery-Copier combination print the same colour primaries as the
aforementioned IRIS or Digi Cromalin. THE RESULTS ARE VERY VERY GOOD!! The
only let down is the Vector Colours and that is something I believe they are
looking at right now. For a more detailed overview please email me on
