This is not specific to the Epson 7xxx printers but will help determine
optimal ink limiting with the Best Color RIP. Under the samples folder of
Best Color is a test chart that will help you determine proper ink limit
percentages. Unfortunately, I am away from the office and can't remember the
file name. The problem I ran into was that this method is not well
documented in the manual and required a detailed email from tech support to
ascertain how to set ink limiting. Shortly, first determine any ink limiting
on each primary channel with the gamma set to none. If you can discern a
difference in a channels up to 100% you are cool. OTW set the lowest number
of either ink channel. Then change the gamma setting to automatic and
reprint the target again to determine the total ink coverage. You can only
set total ink limit IF the gamma is set to something other than none. Once
you have successfully optimized the ink application at the Best Color
proceed to send your linearization charts from Monaco or profiling chart if
your not linearizing the device with Monaco. By the way v4.2 finally
supports the DTP41 for linearization and not just the ColorMouse from Color
Savy. Hope this steers you in the correct direction.
