Ken, as far as the colors "being all over the place" on the Epson Expression
scanner, you might consider driving it with LaserSoft SilverFast software &
maybe the additional calibration addition. Can not tell the difference between
the eight or so Epson 800 models in our Mac lab, when the software hasn't been wrecked. The options in SilverFast are excellent when making mayor black & white point changes to mach each of the various alternative photographic processes we encounter with seperations, etc. often being an option as well as match prints from an Epson 7300 & PressReady. Hope this sheds some light,
