Adobe Gamma (Windows) disable

I remember now how I stopped Adobe Gamma (Windows) from autoloading: locate
the alias to Adobe Gamma Loader.exe in start->startup and trash that.
reboot. no more AG loaded at startup.

the program and .cpl file live in C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Adobe\Calibration but as far as I know you can leave it there and it
will stay dormant, though it will still show up in the control panels.

I downloaded a utility from www.microsoft.com called "tweakUI" which allows
(among other things) you to hide control panel items. I still have no idea
how you remove a control panel item in Windows other than trash the
corresponding .cpl file which I haven't tried yet.

stupid OS, be less hostile! </homer simpson>
