That depends on the software involved; some packages have more difficulty
that others with specific inkjets, be it 6 color, whitened paper,
encapsulated inks, or other factors...

The Epson 1160 offers excellent photo output with only four colors; and with
some packages it will be easier to profile than the roughly comparable 1200,
1270 and 2000p six color machines. I don't make my printer selection based on
this issue, however, since the profiling software from ColorVision can
profile all of these quite nicely, even with only 120 some odd patches.

You should see minor improvements in profiles using roughly 800 patches
instead of 120 some odd... but using a manual patch reader to read this many
is quite a task.
