Printers buy big buck presses and find a single densitometer too expensive
to add.

Prepress shops buy proofers and find an industrial strength profiling
application too expensive to add. Instead they try to profile their
contract proofers with Colortrons, Photoshop ICC profiles and whatnot.

I don't understand either.
