You might try contacting the Graphic Arts Techical Foundation (GATF) they have specifications called GRACol (General Requirements for Applications in Commercial Offset Lithography). GRACoL seems to offer some guideance for Solid Ink Density as it relates to various grades of papers, line screen and TAC.
