Profiling Epson 5000

I have a client that is interested in purchasing an Epson 5000 with the Fiery RIP. How profilable (is this a word?) is this combination? Epson advertises it as having color management--is this going to get in the way of creating decent profiles, or is it already set up for an ICC workflow? Can it be a stable contract proofer with the implementation of a good profile?
