We're using Dupont Color Station 1.0 with an Epson 7000 on a Dell NT box. I
was told that we could plug an ICC profile into the software and it would
mimic that process based on that profile. (They also told us that the Dupont
software a was total color management solution. That doesn't make sense to
me. How can it be a total color management solution when it only affects the
printer? But, I digress...) Now, I'm looking for a good basic SWOP ICC
profile (preferably canned) that I can use to get our images at least in the
ballpark. Colorsync comes with a number of profiles, and I found a couple
that are close, but they are brand name centric (i.e. Kodak SWOP Proofer
CMYK - Coated). Plus, they are .icm files, and I need .icc. Does anyone know
of where I can grab the kind of profile I'm looking for, or if it even
exists, or would the ones included with Colorsync be okay to use? Thanks!
Sorry if this question isn't more focused on Colorsync. We're trying to get
our printer and RIP set up right now (what a nightmare THAT has been), and
we'll focus on Colorsync later. It's just that this list is probably the one
of the best and fastest resources out there, free or otherwise.
