Old news on this list at least... Henrik and I have been politely harassing
Chris Cox for 16 bit LAB TIFF capability since well before Photoshop 6
shipped... and the answer is a resounding "yes, somehow, sometime, some form,
later..." In the mean time Lino's NewColor builds excellent 16 bit LAB TIFFs
that convert nicely through Apple's ColorSync filters... and Photoshop offers
16 bit LAB in its native Photoshop format. So if they are not using a high
end Lino scanner with NewColor (on a PC <G>) then get them to save the files
for you as highbit tagged RGB with the scanner profile attached, or to
convert that to highbit LAB in the Photoshop format.
