Okay I've seen this posted on the scanner list. I almost bought a Howtek
thinking that with Trident an ICC workflow was possible. Is it?
Why should your mappings in the end points be restricted to preset values?
Why are you trying to apply curves to a profile?
Why do you think the rgb values should be neutral for a Kodak IT8
transparency?
Why do you want to click on colour cast corrections before profiling?
Also Steve Upton replied about the rendering intent. Isn't rendering intent
for a scanner profile always perceptual?
Sounds very complicated up to the point of being unusable. The
implementation of ICC through Linocolor is about as easy as it gets per ICC
workflows go. Unfortunately for the Mac user's (most of us on this list)
we'll have to wait for 16 bit saved filed that are already shipping with
Newcolor. This workflow includes all 16 bit colour corrections transforms
etc and screen previews. Almost makes me want to get a PC just to scan on (*
and of course most Rips are server based PC).
