It IS dead-end, there is little or no support, it has some quirks... but I'd
still consider it well worth the price. I'm using it successfully with a
1270 and really like it. Most of my printing is from Photoshop to proof
images, but I print occasionally from Quark or Illustrator as well. Its
fast, dithering is very nearly equal to the regular RGB driver, and most of
its bugs can be easily worked around. Considering the capability it adds to
a 1270 I'd think that its something like $200 price tag is a gamble that's
well worth taking.
