We have tried calibrating two Apple 17" Studio Displays using Colorvision's
Spyder and Optical. The newer monitor purchased in January does not have a
separate brightness control unlike the one purchased last May.
Without a brightness control, Colorvision tech support (after numerous
calls) concluded the two monitors are not in the same range and there is no
way to calibrate them together.
Is there any alternative? Should we sell the newer monitor? (It looks
great but its internal calibration system lives in its own world and
doesn't seem to be adjustable to any standards on the outside.)
This whole monitor calibration things is new. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.
