Both ScanMates had better neutrals (probably due to their IT8

I work with a ScanMate 11000 and with this scanner -as you said - you can do
a internal it8 calibration. It also should be possible do load scanner
profiles, done by external programs. I tried this with a profile that was
created with ColorBlind but the scans (and also the preview) looked
terrible. I did the external it8 calibrations without having done a internal
calibration before. Has anyone experence with this?
Until now my working solution is so, that I calibrate the scanner internal.
Than I also create a ICC profile with it8 using colorBlind. When I load
scans into Photoshop I convert with this ICC profile (as Source from
scanners) to my RGB-Working Space. The results look good as long as I do not
make any corrections with the genius scan-software ColorQuartet. Also no
problem as long as my transparencies are perfect. When my transparencies are
to dark and I use the auto-highlight-function and mybe a neutralize, the
scans (after the conversion) come out with the lights burning out and also
with a shift to green.
So I think that the problem is, that I didn't get my external it8
calibration to work internal. Does somebody know the solution?
