I have been arguing with Agfa for literally years about this. Agfa's
ColorTune product writes a private tag in the ICC profile if its a
reflective or transparent profile. Since Agfa is alone in the method other
profiling packages that create scanner profiles aren't recognized. You can
edit the ICC profile in a text editor to get it to work as you have done to
get around this problem. I have not encountered any problems with using 3rd
party profiles in the FotoLook software after making this tweak. Haven't
worked with the XY-15 scanner so I don't know if your problem is localized
to that scanner/software combo. At the risk of stating the obvious, voice
your opinion loudly to Agfa and maybe, just maybe, someone will listen
though I haven't had much success.
