I have been testing Optical for a few weeks and I'm happy with the
consistency
of the profile. Now I need to adjust the display to reflect our printed
output. I have loaded our press profile and tried our custom PhotoShop
InkSet. I'm still not satisfied. Our primary concern are the white and
black points. Are there better tools for this than the curves tool in
OptiCal?

I usually think that you are better off changing the print profile rather than the monitor profile.

The black ink color and white point are both set in the profile. GretagMacbeth's ProfileMaker Pro Editor will allow you to change the white point and most of the better editing packages will allow you to change the black point.

Have you built a full custom profile or just used ink sets? Perhaps a custom profile would do a better job for you?
