As with Andrew I have had good luck with this but there are a few
important notes.
- place the print on a white surface, preferably a few pieces of the
same stock on which you printed.
- when you start the Eye-One, place it on the white area to the right
or left of the row and press the button, then wait for the beep, and
then scan.
- scan with an even speed, you can experiment with how quickly you
can go, I found you can go reasonably fast
- you can scan bidirectionally so you don't have to pick up the
Eye-One through the whole process.
- it takes a little practice but once you get it the scanning goes
pretty smoothly and quickly.
- the instrument has high enough power requirements that you should
connect it directly to the back of the computer
- the button requires a little more pressure than may be immediately
evident. I found that I was slipping my thumb off when I didn't
realize it and the Eye-One was unhappy that I was not through.
If you continue to have errors you may want to contact GretagMacbeth
support or your dealer(us! toll-free 866-CHROMiX) to see if you can
resolve the issue.
