Unfortunately there is often not much choice.

You can turn off some aspects of color simulation by this method but
the RIP will still do its CMYK->RGB->CMYK trick we love so much.

My favorite solution to this issue is to profile it as an RGB device
and then use a color server in front of it to convert document RGB or
CMYK values properly to the Fiery profile.

Well, I never got a decent result out of the Fiery anyway. It was a Canon
CLC 1000 with Canon ColorPass. No doubt this was due to the Fiery's color
managing/mangling.

I once saw an ad for some kind of copier RIP based on the Harlequin RIP.
Anybody out there have more information?
