On a limited budget I'm trying to move up in the world of printer

Currently using a ColorMouse 2 to read patches with CompassProfile.
The Eye-One Pro + Match package is too expensive at about $3K. It
includes software I can't afford even if it's better than what I'm

Sooo...: Does anyone know of any plans to have the Eye-One
instrument supported by software other than Gretag's?
The ProfileMaker Measure tool (available as part of the full
ProfileMaker application but runs on its own without a dongle) will
run the Eye-One Pro to take readings. They can then be imported into
other applications.
The remaining issue is whether or not the application will print a
target that a strip-reading instrument will use (typically need a
fairly high degree of contrast between patches.
We are testing it with several packages to see which are realistic pairings....
