Good CMYK to RGB Profiles

  • Subject: Good CMYK to RGB Profiles

I am kind of new to the whole Color Management work flow. We just
implemented Profile Maker 3.1 by Gretag Macbeth. We built Monitor profiles,
Scanner Profiles, and Profiled our Iris to match our Matchprint.
We basically set Matchprint as our standard, or our Destination profile. For
the most part everything looks good, however when we get RGB files in from
other parties and we have to convert them to CMYK, we find that using our
Matchprint or destination profile, we dont get as good results as when using
Photoshops Built in conversion table of Swop Coated. When I apply the
destination profile as our CMYK Conversion I am using Perceptual as the
rendering intent and I have black point Compensation checked. I am trying
hard to get this workflow to work for us and the only source of info I get
is by reading manuals and reading postings on the forum, so any helpful
input regarding the subject would be greatley appreciated.

Thanks for any input

Steve L.
