I've done all of the above as well, (I'm using a 22" Cinema and a 17" Studio
LCD as I write this) and agree that for many uses the Apple LCDs are close
enough. Its still disturbing to have the color shift with viewer position...
and a bit hard to nail down gray values when they vary noiticably with minor
changes in posture... skintones are also subtle enough to be a bit
problematic. So while I don't think the "Cinema Displays are god" to abuse a
quote from above <G>, I do think its well worth profiling them. The real
issue of the day is the profiling systems: price, features, effectiveness,
availability...
