Some of this depends on the software you are using it with, but for my own
use with third party software, I'd say they are comparable in time as wel as
in results, except for the UV issues with the EyeOne (identical to what you
are now seeing with your nonUV DTP41). The EyeOne may hold a slight advantage
over the SpectroCam for convenience, but that, again, depends on the software
involved. The SpectroCam can build a ProfilerPRO 729 patch target from one
letter size sheet, while the EyeOne requires two such pages, a bit of an
issue for those of us who profile inkjets and the like. The EyeOne might be a
bit less annoying with resin coated glossy papers, but with either device I'm
likely to place a sheet of nonglossy paper below the reading area to reduce
lurching. The SpectroCam UV has the upper hand for fluorescence issues, at
least until an EyeOne UV appears. Pretty close match all 'round... hard to
say which one will get the vote now that they are competing on features, not
legal grounds.
