I Just downloaded a demo of ProfileMaker and was looking through the
reference files it uses. Do you normally generate CMY, or CMYK profiles?
If you generate CMY profiles, how do you get the correct density of black
If you generate CMYK profiles, you can set the black start at 75, but isn't
this too light? Would you get a very grainy print?
The Kodak colorflow software lets you set the black start at 85, but again
this is too early.
We like Colorvision ProfilerPRO software because it generates the CMYK
reference, based on the CMYK settings I choose. If I want black to start at
90, then it will generate the reference to that black level. I know I can
alter the profiel afterwards, but I've found that if you gen generate your
reference to the exact standard you will be generating CMYK to at a later
time you end up getting a better profile.
Thanks for your help
