My question is - - do I use ABSOLUTE rendering ?
Depends WHAT you want to proof. AbsCol should darken all your colors,
pushing all tones down towards black, relative to the color of the paper
specified in the CMYK profile you are using, in the process of simulating
the paper white onto the RGB printer.
RelCol instead will align all colors in the CMYK image with the RGB gamut of
your printer through "perfect white" i.e. Lab = 100,0,0. So you won't get a
simulation of the CMYK paper white onto your printed output. Instead, what
was C=M=Y=K=0 will map to R=G=B=255. BTW, ask yourself if you choose RelCol
whether you should be turning BPC on or off?
Le me know what the results are : is one matching your screen preview
better? And will one match your real printed output (on press) better?
