As usual I forgot to state the obvious, sorry :
In the majority of cases the user is working with a standards-based
output and simulation profile. In a very few cases the user is
working with a custom output and simulation profile.
Therefore, in the majority of cases the user has no other reference
for comparison than the standards-based profile itself. So learn to
use your proofing tools including your proofing RIP properly, and
trust them first of all.
The FOGRA ISO 12647 reference offset sheets are out of print, time to
