for it. I'm looking at either the LaCie Blue Eye Hardware Calibrator,
I'm supposing that the LaCie comes bundled with software? If not, this is
more than twice as expensive as OptiCal/Spyder. If it DOES include
software, it weighs in at around $575ish I believe, while the OptiCal/Spyder
is $425ish. So there's one variable to look at.
And, if it does come with software, will it work on other monitors for you
in the future? If not, OptiCal wins.
I fear the following statement, but perhaps it's hype and doesn't mean the
Blue Eye is specifically built for the LaCie:
"The blue eye has a completely different approach: it carries out hardware
calibration through a unique video cable using the DDC 2bi VESA standard
that authorizes a two-way flux between the Macintosh and the LaCie monitor."
from their web site.

I'll let the other cats talk about technical comparisons here, but I can
vouch for the fact that I'm loving the sheer speed and sexiness of my
Spyder. Ok, so I'm sick.
