And what
about those old timers scanning Kodachrome??? It's even worse for print
papers!

On the Linocolor / Newcolor CDs there are stock profiles for printing papers. They were built by printing and measuring targets. If you do a lot of swipe art for specific printing papers / inks, you can make such profiles yourself. I'd have to dig through notes for the workflow, though. IOW only in dire need -:)
