good to see someone bring this up. i am at a stock photo agency and we
have been recieveing some files from photographers using 6.0 that generate
the message "not compatible with this version of photoshop" when we try
to open them. how is this possibly acceptable to adobe? that users one
half a version down from the latest can not read files generated by the
latest software?
the only work around we have been able to utilize so far is to open it
in other software (in our case FotoStation 4.5 can open the file) make
a slight change to it (crop off one pixels worth of size) and save it.
then the image can be openned in photoshop. time consuming, frustrating,
and utterly rediculous. any word from adobe on a fix for this? they
can't expect EVERYONE to buy the upgrade every single time they decide
to go from a .5 to a whole nunber.
