Dear List Friends,
I realise that my question is way too basic for this list, but
know not where else to go!
Before I can set up for ColorSync, and the reason I want to set up
for ColorSync, I need to be able to proof to my Epson 1520.
I need to be able to:
1. simulate PostScript overprinting (where a yellow object
"overprinting" a cyan one results in a green area);
2. proof pages from XPress and Illustrator that have native text and
placed EPS vector and bitmaps, and proof them so that the text and
placed images all proof at full resolution (the standard graphic
designer documents);
3. not be driven crazy by arcane interfaces and software that takes
over my Mac (OS 8.6);
4. afford it.
I do not need to:
1. run separations or film;
2. proof "randoms" from Photoshop;
3. proof "MatchPrint" quality (close is good enough).
I received a nice reply kind-of-recommending Adobe PressReady. Is
this the list's only suggestion? Thanks!
