Are you saying the ColorChecker DC is not usable with the glossy patches? I
thought they were a critical part of the "improved results" from using this
target.
This is a pretty significant problem (as in, "completely screwing up" many
digital photo workflows).
I have not heard any mention of this from input profile software vendors (or
anyone else, till now).
Can any list members corroborate or share more info on this issue?

P.S. - oh, and how would a user force profile-generating software to
ignore/exclude those patches (say, ICC DCam, for example)?
