2 Hypothetical situations:
Situation 1:
Four G4s running OS 9.0.4 with Color Sync 3.02 and Calibrator Talk 4.09 with BARCO monitors. The only differences between the four BARCOS would be their age and their location in a room with varied lighting.
Same settings in all software.
Open an RGB image with an sRGB tag or no tag and convert to AdobeRGB upon opening in Photoshop 6.1.
Convert to CMYK.
Will each of the 4 BARCOs produce identical or extremely similar results?
Situation 2:
Various computers (Beige G3s, Blue G3, G4) Various operating systems from 8.6 to 9.0.4. Various versions of ColorSync. Various monitors: BARCOs (calibrated with Calibrator Talk), SONYs, Apple (Calibrated with Monitor Spyder).
Same settings in all software (as close as possible considering the different versions of software)
Open an RGB image with an sRGB tag or no tag and convert to AdobeRGB upon opening in Photoshop 6.1.
Convert to CMYK.
Will each of the monitors produce identical or extremely similar results?
