Hi,
I'm way new at this. I am just an amateur guy who wants to take pictures of
the kids, scan them into the computer for posterity(no digital camera yet)
and occasionally print them out and I want them to look close to the
original. I have an iMac with an HP882C Deskjet. I am using Adobe
Photodeluxe software. My version of ColorSync is 2.6.1. I currently get my
best results without ColorSync and I think that's wrong. (When I use
ColorSync there is an extreme cyan "bias" -hell, it's all cyan).
I found the article "ColorSync Your Stuff" at url:
www.apple.com/publishing/design/colorsync. I ran into problems at step2
where it says to set the CMYK default to your printer profile. The problem
is that my printer profile, "Deskjet 800 series" doesn't show up in the pull
down. It's in the ColorSync folder in my System Folder and shows up in the
printer dialog under ColorSync. My choices in the ColorSync control Panel
are "Color LW 12/600 PS Profile," "Color LW 12/660 PS Profile," "ColorMatch
3.01-SWOP Ink, Sheetfed, Coated," and "Generic CMYK Profile". All the
profiles in the Systems Folder are in the RGB default pulldown though.
Any thoughts on what I can or need to do?
BTW, what does SWOP and RIP stand for?
Thanks
